Thunderheart Thunderheart was burning! His pelt felt as though it was on fire. The green-leaf heat was unbearable. The large warrior anxiously awaited leaf-fall. It was his favorite time of year. Thunderheart heard his deputy call him from behind. He turned sharply, to see Moonfire stand a few tail-lengths away. She looked furious, but somewhere in her eyes he could tell she was relieved to have found them. She looks pretty when she is angry. Thunderheart thought absent-mindedly. He shook his head to clear the thought away. She was his deputy! His superior in almost every way! Also, Thunderheart often tended to miss patrols and such. Moonfire must not think highly of him. Thuderheart pushed those thoughts away and focused on what was happening now. He had two options- tell a lie and hope it sounds convincing, or talk his way out of trouble. He thought a lie up quickly- a cat had been on SnakeClan border and they chased it here and got stuck in the two-leg den, but there was no scent of another cat. Moonfire would see straight through it. So now his only option was talking his way out of it, which wasn't too horrible for Thunderheart. He had a way with words. "Hello, Moonfire." he said as though nothing was wrong, as though they were only in camp. "What brought you here?"

[glow=red,2,300][shadow=red,left,300]MOONFIRE[/shadow][/glow] Moonfire looked up at Thunderheart and Brokensnow. As Thunderheart looked down at her, it struck her how odd it was to talk to them way up there, it was almost like she was the lesser! She watched as Thunderheart turned around slowly. She saw dread in his face, but he quickly composed himself. She hissed when he casually asked what she was doing here. "For starters," she meowed, "you can come down from that fence now!" He was NOT going to play that game with her! She quickly composed herself and strightend up, "What am i doing here?" She meowed calmly and evenly, "Why chasing some lost kits of course," she narrowed her eyes, "and it looks like I just found them!" As she waited for their answer, she noticed how hot it was outside. Thunderheart must be boiling. She felt some sympathy for the tom. He should get all that hair cut off!

Thunderheart Thunderheart was about to roll his eyes at her, but refrained. The point was to get out of trouble, not into it! He lightly jumped down next to his deputy. He had underestimated how mad she was, and he now knew just how far he'd have to go to get out of trouble. "Lost kits?" Thunderheart asked playfully. "I don't think Brokensnow and I look like lost kits. We look much more handsome. Besides, we aren't lost. We know exactly where we are."

[glow=red,2,300][shadow=red,left,300]MOONFIRE[/shadow][/glow] She sighed, "Oh yes, the handsome warriors running away from the 'frightning' twoleg dog, such brave cats!" she meowed sarcasticly. She was impressed though, even if they did disobey the warrior code. "what were you thinking?" she meowed, "Going into a twoleg den!?"

Swifteyes
Swifteyes was stretched out in the sun, admiring the way his own pelt shimmered in the rays. Days like this were for sleeping and talking with she-cats. He pitied the poor souls who had to go out on patrol. Clan life was almost barbaric that way. Letting out a yawn, the dark tom stretched, then padded over to the fresh-kill pile. He lazily unsheathed his claws, then hooked a mouse on their tips. With a flick of his paw, the fresh prey landed in his jaws. After swallowing, Swifteyes looked around. The camp seemed pretty empty. He shrugged, then drifted off to sleep again.

Thunderheart Thunderheart narrowed his eyes. "You wouldn't have done any better against a dog!" he snapped. He calmed down quickly, however, and continued more peacefully. "And it's really hot out. So Brokensnow and I decided that we would cut my fur shorter so it isn't as hot." Thunderheart prayed he wouldn't get in any trouble, if he could just distract Moonfire...

[glow=red,2,300][shadow=red,left,300]MOONFIRE[/shadow][/glow] "Oh yes, and what were hoping to find, kittypet food?" she joked lightly. She wanted the toms to think that the worst of the storm had passed. She continued to tease, "What every cat wants!" She would not forget that they strayed this far from the border though, they would get in trouble!

Thunderheart "No, not kittypet food." Thunderheart meowed disdainfully. "Something sharp." He was a little annoyed at how Moonfire was treating him. Most she-cats admired him, even the elders. It wasn't often that a she-cat treated him like an equal. It was kind of nice, not having to be a flirt. It wasn't easy and the attention he got from it didn't seem real. He hadn't spent much time around Moonfire, mainly because she stubbornly ignored him. And he spent even less time with her now because she was deputy and constantly annoyed with him. He hadn't quite realized that she was fun to talk to.

[glow=red,2,300][shadow=red,left,300]MOONFIRE[/shadow][/glow] She just noticed how much fun it was to talk to Thunderheart, but that still didn't make him any less annoying! "Something sharp?" She meowed ruefully, "and what might you use that for? To poke out your clanmates' eyes?" Probably to cut that long pelt of his she thought. "If it's to cut your pelt, I wouldn't recomend using a twoleg thing, too unreliable! Why not just lick your fur a lot, or bite it out? Besides, you'll miss that fur of yours!" she joked again. "Now, might you tell me why you thought it was o.k. to cross the border? What if IvyClan saw you!?" she meowed getting serious again.

Thunderheart Thunderheart was flabbergasted. "BITE my fur out? Bite?!?! It would come out in clumps!" Thunderheart exclaimed. "My perfect pelt would be completely ruined for the rest of my life! Cutting it is much simpler and doesn't cost me my fur!" He sighed, and shook his head while sitting down. "I doubt that IvyClan would find us here. We are closer to CloudClan then IvyClan. IvyClan scum would have a long walk through our territory. Plus, I doubt they would have the guts to come this far."

[glow=red,2,300][shadow=red,left,300]MOONFIRE[/shadow][/glow] "Exactly!" she smiled, "You'd be bald!" she let out a mrrow of laughter to let him know that she was joking. "And yes, you are right about IvyClan, but i meant any clan in general, really. We should get going though.." She let out another mrroww of laughter, "But don't think that I haven't forgot about your punishment!" she grinned slyly at him, "did you really think you could distract me?"

Thunderheart Thunderheart slowly got up from his relaxed position. He walked towards the way home, sliding close to Moonfire. As he passed, he said "It never hurts to try, doll." With that, he tapped his tail on her nose and walked ahead at a rambling pace, not looking behind to see if the other two had followed. His main thoughts were on what his punishment would be. Thunderheart prayed Moonfire would not mention this to Raccoonstar; his leader would be as mad as a raccoon- thus her name. Yet somewhere in the back of his mind, he was thinking of the conversation he had just had. Moonfire was interesting, to say the least. Thunderheart couldn't see why he thought so highly of her- he didn't really think of others as great. To him, almost everyone was equal... and yet with Moonfire it was not so. Thunderheart cleared his head. He didn't have the time to think of things such as that, when there were more pressing matters. Like how hot it was.

[glow=red,2,300][shadow=red,left,300]MOONFIRE[/shadow][/glow] Doll? if he wanted to make her mad, think of a better word! As they started off, she was aware of Thunderheart pressing against her. Mousebrain what was he trying to do, make her more hot? Still, she had a pretty good theory of what he meant. Foxdung she was deputy for StarClan's sake! She didn't have time to fool around! As she pushed her way ahead of Thunderheart, she was deciding what to tell Raccoonstar. In the end, she decided to tell Raccoonstar that they did run off, they would get punished for that, but she would not mention how far they went. She would deal with them on that. Raccoonstar was too harsh, she would just tone it down a bit. She sighed, she didn't like lying but... why was she lying anyway? She could figure that out later, now she needed to make a report and get them home safely...

Thunderheart Mouse. They had crossed into SnakeClan territory awhile ago, and Thunderheart had scented a lot of prey. He was as hungry as ever, he hadn't eaten since the morning and it was already past sun-high. He had resisted the scents before, but now he couldn't control himself. This one was right under his nose! He plunged into the forest without warning, his speed making up for the noise he made. He pounced on the mouse and killed it with one bite, then returned to where Moonfire and Brokensnow waited. They both looked like he was crazy. "What?" Thunderheart said, the mouse still in his mouth. "I'm hungry!" However, it wounded more like 'I hungay'. He set the mouse down. "Can we please stop to eat?"

[glow=red,2,300][shadow=red,left,300]MOONFIRE[/shadow][/glow] "No," Moonfire meowed, she just remembered the reason for wanting them, "We are on a hunting patrol now, the clan always comes first!" She felt bad for not letting them eat, she could hear their bellies growling, especially Thunderheart's, but rules were rules. "I'm sorry," she meowed, "but the faster we hunt, the sooner we can eat." At that, she crouched down and opened her senses. pheasant!! This was one prey that she could not afford to miss. She quickly glided down over to the pheasant and killed it in one quick bite. That was probably the smoothest catch she had ever caught. She wasn't really known for hunting, she reflected.
