Open up your mind, let your fantasies unwind
In this darkness which you know you cannot fight
The darkness of the music of the night

Thunderheart stumbled, close to his breaking point, back to. He blundered past the cat who was on watch, who he didn’t even try to talk to. He didn’t know what to do, what to think, who to turn to. None of his clanmates liked him enough to listen to his love-drunk rambling. He couldn’t go to the warriors den, his hysteria would wake everyone up. The elders den and nursery weren’t fit for a warrior. The elders would think him dumb and kits wouldn’t understand him. Plus, they’d all be asleep. It took Thunderheart awhile to realize it was dark out.
Skyleaf. He didn’t talk to his sister about important things often, usually because nothing important was going on. But Skyleaf always knew what to do, and she was a shoulder he could rely on. She also probably knew a thing or two about females. She is a female, his mind reminded him.
Thunderheart ran into her den, accidentally crashing through a pile of leaves she had left out. ”Sorry, Skyleaf, I didn’t mean to do that. Thunderheart turned around and hastily put the leaves back in a skimpy pile, very different from the pile it had been in moments before. ”Oh, Skyleaf, it’s just horrible. I don’t know what to do! I like- no, I LOVE Moonfire. I’ve just been denying it because it’s me. Well, you know. I can’t show feelings, not like that, and especially not that.” Skyleaf gave him a look, as she watched him pace back in forth in front of her like a mad cow.
“Well, and Raccoonstar likes her too. Well I’m sure you knew that already. You’re the medicine cat. You know stuff. Well anyways we were over by Moonplace and it was me, Raccoonstar, Moonfire, and then Slashsnow came out of nowhere. Well Moonfire loves Raccoonstar but doesn’t know who to choose, and Racconstar and I love her, and Slashsnow loves Racconstar and always has apparently. But then Racconstar said that I could ‘have’ Moonfire and he’d move on and try to love Slashnow, but it doesn’t work like that. You and I both know that and I don’t know what to do because now I’m upset about it when I should be happy but quite honestly there isn’t anything to be happy about.
He finished his rant and slumped to the ground, his head in his paws. ”Isn’t that horrible?” he sort of mumbled, back into his own thoughts. He hadn’t even checked to see if someone else was in the medicine den, and rose his head and looked around. Thankfully, it was just him and his sister.
