Hazelpaw
"'Yes, Hazelpaw," Eveningpaw meowed, laying the words on thickly and stiffly, "If that's what you want," and she turned away, racing back to Moonfire and Thunderheart. Hazelpaw watched her friend's back slowly disappear as the younger apprentice dashed towards the two mentors. Her blue eyes were wide with shock. What had she said...what had she did to make her friend so upset? She winced as sudden realization hit her. Why had she said those things? Hazelpaw had known Eveningpaw all of her short life. They had done alot together, despite the moons of age difference between them. That was probably why Eveningpaw acted a bit older than most cats her age. And, no matter how short Hazelpaw's temper was, she had never said anything so cold, so cruel to Eveningpaw before. "Eveningpaw," she murmured, the rain drops beading on her lips flinging off with the sudden motion. She knew Eveningpaw coudn't hear her, but she continued all the same. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to say those things. I wouldn't even imagine saying them to you. You're my friend. Eveningpaw...." Hazelpaw clenched her teeth, trying to ward off the intense emotions rolling off of her. Pain, anger at herself, frustration at Eveningpaw for not understanding, sadness for their damaged friendship. She was unaware of the rain, unaware of the cold biting her paws and her nose, unaware of the wind howling through the trees. Hazelpaw slowly padded after Eveningpaw, closing her eyes against the rain. Water ran down her face, getting into her ears and her mouth. The rain tasted salty; almost like tears.

Eveningpaw bounded ahead of Hazelpaw, why wouldn't her 'friend' understand? Was she just alone in this silent world? The only one who didn't care for looks or age? She ran blindly, the rain making her eyes sting, and yet she ran on, her paws were covered in mud, sinking deeper and deeper down into the soft earth. Tears streamed down her face as she relized that she was different, 'I'm not normal....' she whispered to herself? 'Why is it that I try and pretend who I'm not? I am only six moons old for StarClan's sake! Why do I have to act like I'm at least twelve? Do I have to make friends only my age?" Her heart was beating quickly, yet her mind was racing ahead, and so keeping her body in line with her mind, she ran on. She turned back toward the RockCave, making sure to keep out of Hazelpaw's view. It was the only place were she could feel alone and secure, where no cat could ask her questions and expose her as the lesser. Nor was that the only thing that really minded, Hazelpaw and Duskpaw - she had lost both of them, each of them choosing their own path. Sunkit...he was gone too, and so was her father! How many more would she have to loose? She didn't think she could bear it anymore!
Eveningpaw slowed to a stop, her eyes grazed the place where Hazelpaw and she had stood, fighting the badger; she ran on. Finally, she arrived at the RockCave, the walls were silent, as if to share her dread, humiliation, and down. She padded slowly and quietly into the cave, and sobbed.

Hazelpaw
Hazelpaw watched Eveningpaw run ahead. A part of her yowled silently, Go ahead! I thought you were my friend. I though you understood me. But I guess I was wrong. Go ahead and rot for all I care! But the other side of her, her true side, urged her to run after her friend. And she did. Her paws beat a steady rhythym on the sodden ground as she raced in the direction that Eveningpaw had departed. But Eveningpaw had vanished from sight and her scent had faded to nothing in the heavy rain. Hazelpaw stopped in the shelter of a sapling, a few fox-tails away from the RockCave and let out a yowl of pain and sadness. Eveningpaw was her friend! It was foolish of the younger apprentice to assume Falconpaw would take her place. It was foolish of her to think that Hazelpaw abandoned her. Hazelpaw felt tears run down her face and she sang:
No one can bring back the dead No one can take back what has been said I only wish For your forgiveness Take my life, my heart, my eyes When will you realize I'm sorry for the way I treated you Maybe I'm not the cat you thought you knew There's something about me that I don't understand Maybe I don't deserve to be your friend...
Hazelpaw's voice trailed off mournfully. She didn't know If Eveningpaw had heard her, but singing her thoughts always gave her peace-of-mind. She padded in the direction of camp, her vision bleary and her throat sore.

[glow=blue,2,300][shadow=blue,left,300][/shadow][/glow]As she quieted down, she started to sing, all of her loss, her sadness was layed into the song, layer by layer.
Once, I gazed upon a distant shore, Watching Seabirds as they filled the sky; Standing out there in the misty air, how I wished, that I could fly.
The water is wide; I cannot cross ore. And neither have I - the wings to fly. See how I stand, see how I cry. And I shall stay forevermore.
I leaned against, a small young oak - I thought it was; a trusty tree! But first it bent, And then it broke, thus did my love~ Prove false to me!
The Water is Wide- The Water is Wide. The Water is Wide- The Water is Wide...
I had a friend, Who was oh so fine, She liked to sing, and laugh with me, But we do grow- So far away. And fade to dust, None evermore.
The Blind Sun, no longer arise, forever dark- ,and dreary now. Left and Betrayed, Done and ruined So never be warmed by the evening fall.
Dusk falls each day, So hard to reach. You strive to learn, I strive to reach, And so ignored, I turn away. Ignored and hurt- Like the hidden shadow.
Oh love is fair, and Love is fine~ Sweet as a rose, for when it blooms, but love grows cold, And smetimes old. And fade away, like the morning dew.
OOC: That is from "The Water is Wide and A Distant Shore" I changed the words a bit though! ^^ btw, the "Love" is her friends and brother and sister. Sun is her brother Sunblaze and Dusk is her sister Duskfall (Duskpaw)This is part of the song www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvbEgPlvgGE

Hazelpaw
Hazelpaw lay curled up in the apprentice's den. Her long mottled pelt, which she took pride in keeping well-groomed, was tangled and dirty. Was this life? she wondered, starting to tremble with cold--she hadn't bothered drying herself off. Is this what normal apprentices go through? She doubted it. Why had she said those things? It wasn't Hazelpaw talking, of that she was certain. The longer she laid in the den, the more sick and cold she felt. Finally she tried to roll to her paws, but she found that she couldn't move--because of the pain or her weakness, she didn't know. So she just laid there, alone, her eyes and nose running. Completely alone.

It had started to rain. The small dots of the river turned into pails of water, she heard Hazelpaw and Eveningpaw, they were talking about something, she went to get them when she saw Eveningpaw racing ahead of Hazelpaw, probably a race. She turned away, they would make it back on their own. She waited a few minutes to let Hazelpaw catch up, when she didn't, she assumed that she had gone ahead, "Apprentices," she mutered, they should have waited for us. Yet, she couldn't blame them, she scolded herself as she realized what a horrible mentor she had been to Hazelpaw, just drifting off. Well, there was nothing she could do about it now, she decided to take Hazelpaw alone on a border patrol tomarrow, with, hmm, Falconpaw and Brokensnow, maybe even Slashsnow. Suddenly, she didn't know what made it happen, but she had this feeling. She raced back to camp, unnoticebale of the mud splashing against her pelt. She knew something was wrong, very wrong. She splashed into camp, and into the apprentice den, not knowing what to look for...and then she saw her. Hazelpaw. Hazelpaw was laying sparawled on to her side, her nose running and her chest rising and falling in gasps. "Skyleaf!" she called, almost above panic, trying to keep it bottled inside, "Skyleaf!"

FALCONPAW Falconpaw heard Moonfire's cry and rushed to her side. He saw Hazelpaw lying down, her fur mottled and her breath shallow. He knew a trick to try to stimulate breathing, and so he lay down and matched her breathing. He then steadily slowed the fast and shalllow breaths, and her breath matched his. Once it was deep enough and slow enough, he rose and fetched Skyleaf. OOC: That was a bit of a Jayfeather trick. I just decided not to do the second part because Falconpaw isn't magical.

Hazelpaw Hazelpaw struggled to a sitting position as she heard the scuffling of paws inside her den. "Eveningpaw?" she rasped hopefully, her front legs trembling with the effort. Finding only the scent of Moonfire and Falconpaw, she slumped back to the ground. Hazelpaw had hoped that Eveningpaw had returned to camp, but the other apprentice was still out in the hunting grounds. Her jaws opened in a violent cough. What was happening to her? Was it happening to Eveningpaw as well? She hoped not--Eveningpaw was alone with no one to help her. Hazelpaw realized, with a jolt, that she must of caught Whitecough. She cursed her stupidity. What were they thinking, running around in the rain like that? It was no wonder she was sick! Hazelpaw hoped that Eveningpaw was fine, wherever she was. She then closed her eyes, exhausted. EDIT:OOC: Raccoonstar: Whitecough comes before Greencough. There's a Medicine Cat reference somewhere on this site, if you want to be sure. ^^' And your below post makes no sense--Hazelpaw has no problem breathing and Falconpaw already tried this method on her. And Eveningpaw is in RockCave.

FALCONPAW
Falconpaw stared at Hazelpaw as she collapsed as well. They had been running in the rain, and now were sick! He sat next to Hazelpaw, hoping to not catch Hazelpaw's cough but just wanting to be with her. He saw Moonfire race away to fetch Skyleaf, but he stayed, hoping to comfort her.
OOC: Falconpaw's a stalker. And LAWL SHORTNESS RULEZ

Eveningpaw, her back pressed to the smooth wall of the RockCave, shivered, she was freezing! It had come on so suddenly, one minute, she was finishing her last verse of her song, the next she had fallen over. With her head between her paws, she gasped. What just happened?? Why was she feeling so sick? She looked up at the roof of the cave, hoping to see Silverpelt, but instead, hard rock and stalactites.
She coughed, she shouldn't be here, she thought over and over again, I need a medicine cat, I need..... The last thing she saw, before drifting off into an unfitful sleep, was a silhouette of a cat, tall before her....and then she was falling......
OOC: yeah, it can be anyone who has been to the cave BEFORE, including Hazelpaw (Which i highly doubt) Sunkit (Who has run away, so that's highly impossible) Duskpaw, or Skypaw,....(am i missing anyone?) SO it can be one of those cats, not some random cat coming out of nowhere hint hint ************

Hazelpaw
Eveningpaw!
The single name rang loudly in her mind, jolting Hazelpaw awake. Eveningpaw! the cry came again, and a sense of urgency flooded her being. Eveningpaw was in trouble, she was sure of it! But...Hazelpaw had no idea where her friend was, let alone where to start looking. She felt her heart sink with despair. Eveningpaw might be dying at this moment and there is nothing I can do about it! Angry at her own helplessness, she lashed out with her paw, striking a nearby rock. It rolled to the corner of the den then tipped over with a small thump!. She glared at it. It reminded her of something, something that she couldn't put her paw on...RockCave! Hazelpaw hadn't thought to look for Eveningpaw there!
Hazelpaw stood shakily and padded out of the den, each step made strong with a sense of purpose. She made sure to keep out of sight of Falconpaw and Moonfire--she didn't want them meddling with something they didn't understand. "I'm coming, Eveningpaw," she hissed underneath her breath, struggling not to cough. "Just wait!"
It wasn't too long of a distance from SnakeClan Camp to RockCave, but for Hazelpaw it felt like a life time. Her muscles ached, her throat stung, her chest burned. By the time she reached her destination, he was ready to collapse from exhaustion. Her heart sped up as she caught sight of her friend. She started to call out to her, then stopped, horrified, as Eveningpaw swayed before her, then fell over. Hazelpaw caught her friend before she hit the ground, then laid beside her, calling her name.
"Eveningpaw, I'm sorry I got us into this mess. But I'm going to get us out. Wake up, Eveningpaw. We have to get back to camp."
OOC: What can I say, Hazelpaw is a determined cat. XD

FALCONPAW
Falconpaw watched her go. He didn't try to stop her for a second. He knew that Hazelpaw's determination was fierce, and he knew he could do nothing to stop her. He followed her though, just to make sure she didn't...die...in the rain, and following her led him to a cave. He faintly scented Eveningpaw in the cave, and when the two came out he would assist them in coming home. So he waited, his fear of losing Hazelpaw growing every second he couldn't see her.
OOC: Yup. STALKER FALCONPAW!!!

(Sea has yet to do something on periods....^^ But 2 things are wrong with this....1, this should probably be in a separate post and preferably on my terms and B, (lol) There is a sentence minimum and it is five sentences. After that, it should be fine.)
