Seastar Seastar sat just outside the tunnel that led to the camp, her back facing the entrance. She gave an internal sigh. Sitting there with no one to stop her mind, she began to wonder about the upcoming moons. Surely they were going to be hard, but that last moon...would be the hardest of all. She'd have to leave her children, her loving mate that StarClan had provided for her, and her Clan...She let her head fall, but only for a moment and to be picked back up. A small time frame of weakness wasn't that bad, but she couldn't go around wallowing in self-pity. That wasn't Seastar's style of things. She would hold it together for her Clan. Even in front of Bluesparrow she would be smiling and lively, not showing any signs of wear-and-tear.
She pawed gently at the new spring grass that started to sprout from the undergrowth of the forest. At least green-leaf was on its way, and with it, prey! That was one worry that could be banished from her mind for the remaining moons. Seastar also needed to focus more on her health and kits. Not health like her heart, but staying a good physique that would allow her to hold kits in her stomach for two moons and a few days. Smokeleaf would be a charge of that task. Putting herself into good physical shape. And Seastar knew good and well that Smokeleaf would chase her around the forest with a trained badger if she had to. Seastar laughed at the image that popped into her head of Smokeleaf chasing her with a badger. That would end well.
She waited for Bluesparrow to arrive. She'd invited him to a hunting patrol of just him and her for the whole day. Periodically they would bring back the fresh kill, but it was more of bringing up the conversation of kits. How to start? How would he react? Inside she knew that he would agree. Why wouldn't he? And she would be the first leader to birth kits. She heard the soft thud of paw steps behind her. One set of paw steps by the sound of it. Bluesparrow's scent wreathed Seastar in an evergreen and earth mixed with a slight scent of herbs. He must have just headed from Smokeleaf's den. If not, he's just rolled in a patch of Basil.

Bluesparrow I hear the wind call your name It calls me back home again It sparks up the fire - a flame that still burns Oh it's to you I'll always return i w i l l a l w a y s r e t u r n b r y a n a d a m s “Daddy! Daddy wake up!” Bluesparrow felt two tiny paws shaking him. He groaned, and rolled away from the annoying paws. “C’mon Bluesparrow! You promised you would come with us!” a different voice squealed. He looked towards where the voice was calling him and saw ten eyes staring back at him, some eyes blue, some amber, and two green. ”What on earth could you guys want from me?” He didn’t remember agreeing to anything, let alone promising. He hauled himself up and left the sleeping warriors den, careful to not step on Rivershadow’s tail. The kits followed him. He glanced at the sky, it was still well into the night and the moon shone brightly overhead. “Snowkit found mother!” the cream kit exclaimed. The quiet white one next to her shuffled his paws. ”Found mother?” Bluesparrow said, not understanding the kits’ excitement. Shouldn’t they be in the nursery? The gray kit started to lead the way out of the camp, the tortoiseshell following her. Bluesparrow knew they shouldn’t be leaving camp, but then curiosity overtook caution and he followed as well. The three other kits trailed him. They babbled the whole trip, amazingly able to walk through the forest with no apparent exertion. It was as if they were true warriors. One of them walked in pace next to him, as quiet as his brother but not shy. “You know,” the dark tom spoke at last, his siblings playing games in front of them, “They miss her.” “I know.” Bluesparrow found himself saying, not in charge of what was coming out of his mouth. “I miss her too.” Who was her?!? Before he had time to ponder it, however, the kits stopped. Bluesparrow only then realized they were nowhere near FrostClan territory, or even the clan’s territory. The six cats had halted on a cliff, overlooking a glistening sea. The stars, numerous in the sky, shone like brilliant eyes. “See, daddy?” The kits said in unison, their voices a chorus of bells. “There’s mommy!” Snowkit spoke alone for the first time, and all of them turned to look at a star. It was a brilliant blue, hiding in the crescent of the moon. “Mommy always watches us. She loves us.”
Bluesparrow jolted awake. This time, no kits surrounded him, only sleeping warriors. It was dawn. What just happened? He shook his head, and suddenly missed the crazy kits that had just inhabited his dream. They were lively and happy, even Snowkit. And the dark tom that had walked beside him was wise, even in his young age. And the she-cats had reminded him of someone, but he couldn’t place the thought. Seastar’s waiting for me! He jumped up, quickly washed himself so he didn’t look like a wreck, and padded outside. The sun shone through the trees, casting shadows on the camp. The trees moved in the breeze, and the shadows… the shadows looked like small, running cats. Five of them, in a row, running towards a cat sitting at the far end of the clearing… Seastar. This isn’t coincidence. Bluesparrow thought as he walked towards the cat he loved. He smiled sweetly at her, though his mood didn’t match his gesture. “How are you, love?

Seastar “How are you, love?" Bluesparrow said from behind Seastar. "Hm," she said as she turned around and pressed herself against him. "Very good now that my mate is here." The conversation that she wanted pricked at the back of her mind, but she pushed it back farther, not wanting to scare the tar out of Bluesparrow. "Let's get going." She said bouncing along the path through the evergreens. Slowly, the forest came alive with faint sounds of animals. A mouse scuttling through the undergrowth, a pheasant hurrying along her chicks, a crow cawing in the canopy of leaves above. Trying to depict the different scents of the forest was no harder than it was as an apprentice or early warrior. Everything had the same "tang" but the undertones were different. Fresh-kill always smelled "warm", earth smelled like rot, different cats smelled like whatever they hung around the most.
Seastar lowered into the hunter's crouch and waggled her haunches...then pounced! The mouse reacted to late and found itself in the clutches of death. Seastar silently thanked StarClan for the meat and burried it. It was a female...and heavy with little mice babies in her tummy. Seastar felt a little sadness, but it was for her Clan so she could push the sadness away for a while. Getting a pregnant fresh kill was uncommon, but not rare. The occasional rabbit would be pregnant and the unborn pups would be lying under a pile of leaves with the rest of the uneaten parts. Seastar looked back to watch Bluesparrow, to see if he'd caught anything. But she found him watching her, as if he could watch her for forever.
"Bluesparrow," She said. "Did you ever think of kits?" She hoped she wasn't rushing into things. Oh who is she to say if rushing into something is actually rushing? She's dying for StarClan's sake! She thought of her remaining year and a half left of her life approximately. That would be enough time to watch her children grow up and see them become warriors.

He felt happier than he had ever been before, but a small shadow cast a glimmer of doubt. He feared this- this bliss, this truly beautiful feeling would end, like all other things did. And then, there was always the dream that kept crawling back into his thoughts. The five kits, happy and bubbly. Seastar interrupted his thoughts. ‘Have you…. Have you ever thought about kits?’ Bluesparrow looked at her, wildly surprised. He was sure that the look on his face spelled true horror, and he knew she would take it the wrong way, but he couldn’t choke out and legible words. He spluttered, coughed, and finally composed himself. “Sorry… you had just voiced what’s been on my mind for most of the day. You scared me, for a moment I thought you had read my thoughts. You’re psychic.” He paused for a moment, and then continued. “But yes, I’ve thought about it. I… I dreamed about these kits last night. Why ask?”

Seastar Bluesparrow's face was horror. Pure sickness, cold and terrible, gripped Seastar's stomach. I knew it was to good to be true, But Bluesparrow's face turned back to the easy going feature she knew best. “Sorry… you had just voiced what’s been on my mind for most of the day. You scared me, for a moment I thought you had read my thoughts. You’re psychic.” He said. Seastar's heart leaped with happiness. It wasn't the end of the world! He did want kits. A purr built up in Seastar's throat as her eyes closed. “But yes, I’ve thought about it. I… I dreamed about these kits last night. Why do you ask?” There it was. The question that Seastar wanted him to ask from the beginning. He might as well have been saying, "You want kits?" Who cares what form the question was in. She's take it. She built up her courage. Never before had she felt this...this nervous terror in her stomach. But it wasn't terror. It was happiness for something, for a dream that she could finally have. Drawing in a deep breath, she let out the air with words trailing on the end. "Be-because...I would like kits...Bluesparrow? W-would you like to have kits?" Seastar stuttered. Mousebrain! Since when do you stutter? You're a leader for crying out loud! Seastar rebuked herself in her mind. Mentally preparing herself for the blow that was sure to come. But he looked so sure...so calm, that Seastar's heart couldn't hep but hope that he'd say yes. She waited with anticipation. Excitement bringing flames to her eyes as the minute dragged on.

Bluesparrow laughed at Seastar. And laughed, and laughed, and laughed. The pure giddiness of the situation just made him.. laugh. He finally sauntered over to Seastar, positively full of himself, and answered "Yes," as he wrapped his tail in hers.
OOC: I PROMISE I WILL ENVER GET THAT DETAILED AGAIN. I FEEL DIRTY AS IT IS. AND MAY NOT ADD MORE TO THIS D:
