Silentstar A foul stench hung in the air around the old oak at the edge of camp, well away from the others. Four sources lie in the shadow of the tree: the dead carcasses of six rats. Flies had eaten away at their eyes, leaving nothing but gaping eyes. Flies still worked on the grisly feast, laying their eggs, which soon hatched into fat, short drops of maggots.
One dull orange cat studied the sight with satisfaction. This plan had worked perfectly! The six pieces of prey were sure to still have blood in them, and plenty of diseases. Soon, the carcasses would move again, floating around in the main source of FrostClan’s drinking source. These six rats’ diseases would then infect the water source, making the stream water too poisonous to consume. Six plain rats would be the fall of many cats.
Night was starting to fall, and the dull orange tom’s ice blue eyes lit up from the rising light of the moon.
“Perfect!” He thought. “The cover of night will help in this special mission.” His eyes scanned the warriors around him. “I will needs assistance,” he thought. His eyes rested on a dark warrior of his. Hollowbranch.
“Hollowbranch,” The Clan leader meowed. “I need your assistance. It’s time to deliver these six rotting carcasses to FrostClan.” He smiled, thinking of the many cat deaths that will surely follow.
“That will teach Seastar to mock the name and attack the warriors of Silentstar!” Silentstar thought, sinking his claws into the earth. His pupils shrank, narrowing into dangerous slits, a black splint in a lake of ice blue. Tonight, Ivyclan would triumph!

Hollowbranch Hollowbranch nodded to her leader. She had forgotten about FrostClan‘s punishment- she had been working hard the past few days to take her mind off things. She followed him back to where the six dead rats were. They stank to high StarClan, and Hollowbranch recoiled in disgust. “We‘re really going to put those into their water?” she thought to herself, but she didn‘t dare say it out loud. Silentstar was not to be messed with- and that she knew for a fact. Then Hollowbranch hardened herself. After all FrostClan had done- they deserved this. She flexed her claws into the ground. The rats were on a leaf so that neither Silentstar nor Hollowbranch would get sick. They had practiced this before- Silentstar made sure that they knew exactly what they were doing. Silentstar motioned to her, and Hollowbranch carefully took the stems of three leaves. She dragged them backwards, following Silentstar as he led the way. The going was hard, especially in IvyClan’s thick territory- Hollowbranch couldn’t wait until they were in the clear forest of FrostClan. Hollowbranch stopped for a second, getting the taste of leaf out of her mouth. She looked around at Silentstar, who kept going with a hard determination in his eyes. Hollowbranch admired and feared the leader at the same time- but she knew that he could create disarray in all the clans. In fact, he could kill them all if he set his mind to it. Hollowbranch decided, then and there, that she would not let that happen.

Silentstar Silenstar’s eyes never strayed from the path they took. They had made it halfway to their destination without much trouble. He gripped the deadly bundle tightly, but making sure none of the toxic substance touched his tongue, or any other part of his body. FrostClan would never know what hit them!
After some walking, they came to the IvyClan/FrostClan border. He looked both ways with his ice blue eyes, looking for a patrol. There was no scent of the warriors, only the very faint scent of blood from the battle that had occurred a while ago.
“Here we are,” Silentstar announced. “It’s a straight shot across their territory, then we’ll find a stream, which they use as their main water source, and collect water for their moss. We will leave the carcasses floating there, but stuck, so they won’t drift away. Then, we’ll make it back into our territory in time for dawn patrol.” He sniffed the air once more, then ran forward headlong into the foreign forest.
The foliage rushed by as the two IvyClan cats ran throughout the forest, intent of completing the dirty task. Silentstar’s ice blue eyes remained malicious, and an evil grin started to dominate his expression. This would surely teach FrostClan! The plan was so well thought out, there would be no flaw. He looked behind him, to see how Hollowbranch was doing.

Hollowbranch Hollowbranch was quickly following Silentstar. He had stopped, and she stopped next to him. They had crossed the Frostclan/IvyClan border, and now were headed to there main water source. Hollowbranch suppressed a shiver. She was now thinking of cats dying… apprentices closing their eyes and never opening them. Kits mewing for their mother. Elders dying in pain. She didn‘t dare voice her thoughts, Silentstar would accuse her of being a wimp and send her home. She dug her claws into the earth, and then ducked her head down and kept moving- if they stopped for too long, they would surely get caught.

Silentstar Silentstar continued forward, and stopped abruptly, ears pricked.
“We’re getting close,” he meowed, and crouched low to the ground, slinking forward. The sound of water rang in their ears, and the stream soon came into sight. The fast-flowing stream showed a shattered reflection of the moon that hung above the two cats. The moonlight outlined the two IvyClan warriors with silver as they continued the mission.
Silentstar scanned the stream when they approached the stream, looking for a place to deposit the six carcasses. He angled his ears towards a group of rocks that blocked the way somewhat. If they placed one carcass just right, it would stay there, but its blood and diseases would flow out into the water. After some more inspection, he found other places just the same, but separated enough so the diseases would spread.
“Deposit your three over there,” he meowed, pointing with his tail. “I’ll put these three along here.” He padded over to one of the rocks, and let go of the leaf for a moment. One of the rats tumbled out, landing perfectly. He managed to keep the other two in the leaf wrap, so he could deposit the other two in their ideal destinations. He continued his work as the night went on, and the stream started to tinge red from the carcasses.

Hollowbranch As Silentstar did his work, Hollowbranch started on hers. The first rat was easy- it almost leaped into place by itself. Hollowbranch turned away before she could see or smell it- the cloaked stench was enough for her. The next was almost just as simple and once again she managed to not smell the rotten thing, but on the third rat she was not as lucky. Hollowbranch gagged at the site of it- maggots wiggled inside of it, under the skin too- it looked like it was boiling. It’s eyes had decayed in half-crescent shapes and blood welled up from where the rest of the eye should have been. It’s claws had fried in the heat of Greenleaf- they were brittle and one had even fallen off. Its fur was mangy and disgusting; it had come off in clumps in some places. Its mouth was probably the word- blood and guts seeped out of it like a death wail. And the stench- the stench was overpowering. Hollowbranch turned into the stream and threw up. She wasn’t able to take the horrid stench. Silentstar looked over at her with a disdainful look, but Hollowbranch could care less. She still didn’t feel good.

Silentstar Silentstar planted the last rat carcass, and sighed with satisfaction. The deed was done. And, the bile from Hollowbranch would help spread the sickness. The rat bodies bobbed in the water as the stream flowed by, picking up all the bacteria that leaked from them, and carried them downstream.
“Our work is done here,” Silentstar meowed, and turned to leave, flicking his tail for Hollowbranch to follow. The moon was starting to finally fall, and they needed to leave now. There was no other reason for the two IvyClan warriors to stay.
Silentstar ran back for the border, dashing headlong throughout the forest. After some time had passed, they came to the border. Both crossed without hesitation, knowing there would be no patrol at this time. Silentstar couldn’t help but feel this was too easy. It was like hunting baby mice-an easy objective to reach. Silentstar dearly hoped that Spottedwing would drink the tainted water. She had almost inflicted a fatal wound to one of his warriors. Revenge would be a sweet treat.

Hollowbranch Now that the deed was done and she no longer felt sick, Hollowbranch was feeling much better. FrostClan would get what they seriously deserved. Also, she doubted that the rats would go unnoticed. Before too long, an apprentice will come across it and find the carcasses. FrostClan would only lose a few warriors, and that was quite fine with Hollowbranch. As she dashed into her home territory behind Silentstar, she started to feel the effects of the late night mission. Tiredness was creeping into her bones, and when they finally reached camp, Hollowbranch gratefully sank into her nest between to Foxheart and Tigerpelt. Sleep came as a comfort to her aching pads.

DUSKWING
Duskwing watched Silentstar do the deed from the shadows. The horrible deed. This might destroy FrostClan! She had to do something. She would have to betray Silentstar. She ran outside, making sure she was not noticed. She sped towards the FrostClan border, never stopping. Once she reached the camp, she cried, "Seastar! There is something extremely important I need to tell you!" ~CONTINUED AT FROSTCLAN CAMP~
