Apprentice Ceremony

Seastar

Seastar just woke up from her nap when she remembered the meeting. She cleaned herself up, making herself look presentable and walked from her den. "Let all cats old enough to catch their prey, meet here below the Giant Rock for a clan meeting!" She yowled. Cats poured from their dens. Some sleepy, curious and others who really couldn't care less. The three kits that were the stars of the day bounded from the Nursery, looking shiny clean.

Seastar started the joyous ceremony with her own words. "As you all know, we have three kits that are old enough to be apprenticed." The look on the kits faces, priceless. "They are three wonderful, bright, and eager learners. Tomkit, Darlingkit, and Curiouskit come up here." The kits bounded up. Their little, stubby tails quivering with excitement.

"Tomkit come here." The small tom bounded up to her. "This is a proud day for FrostClan, by naming apprentices we show FrostClan will survive and remain strong. Tomkit, from now on until you receive your warrior name you will be known as Firepaw." The now apprenticed kit was a little confused, but still excited.
"Ashtail, you are ready for another apprentice, you will be Firepaw's mentor. I know you will pass on all of the things you taught his mother, to Firepaw, and teach him the skills that will make him a brave warrior of FrostClan." she watched as apprentice and mentor touched noses and went to sit together.

"Darlingkit, come. Darlingkit, from now on until you receive your warrior name you will be known as Sunpaw." Sunpaw quivered. She was excited and scared.
"Spottedwing, you are ready for an apprentice, you will be Sunpaw's mentor. I know you will pass on your determination, speed and skills to Sunpaw, and teach her the skills that will make her a brave warrior of FrostClan." Mentor and apprentice touched noses and went to sit by the others.

"Curiouskit, from now on until you receive your warrior name you will be known as Dewpaw." Seastar glanced down at her. "And I have another surprise," she said. " I, Seastar, will mentor Dewpaw. I will pass on the things that my mentor and those before him to her." Seastar bent down her head to touch noses with her apprentice, and did so.

This would be her second apprentice. Her first was Spottedwing, who was now a fine warrior. And so would Dewpaw.

[Fallinggaze]

FallingGaze looked up to the new apprentices. This may be her last set of kits, but it also might not. She would miss the company in the Nursery, the only ones there will be her, and Silvershine. FallingGaze's plan would be to wait until the next gathering, if she wasn't expecting kits by then, she would go back to the warriors' den. But until then, she would sleep in the Nursery and ask Smokeleaf if she could find anything about Fallinggaze having kits. She was happy for Firepaw, Dewpaw, and Sunpaw, they would be great warriors, for they all have great mentors.

Seastar

Seastar looked down at her apprentice. Cheers of "Firepaw! Sunpaw! Dewpaw!" Lifted into the air. This would be a great report at the next Gathering.

"Let's go and take a look at the FrostClan borders. It's early afternoon and it'll be a long way. Think you can make it Dewpaw?" She asked teasingly.

Spottedwing

Spottedwing looked at Sunpaw. Are you up for a border patrol? I think Seastar and your sister are going. Let's go with them." Spottedwing walked with her apprentice to the leader. "Seastar? Is it okay if we go on the border patrol with you?" Seastar nodded and they left, heading for the CloudClan border.

DUSKWING

Duskwing sighed. She knew she wouldn't have an apprentice so soon after her betrayal, but she was still hopeful. Ashtail had gotten Firepaw, the bravest of the litter, and also the apprentice Duskwing had hoped for. Oh well. Better luck next time.
