If laughing is the best medicine
Then tears are the worst disease.
If being polite is a 'good thing to do'
Then you should always say 'thank you' and 'please.'
But have tears ever killed a person?
Has laughter made anything better?
Has saying 'thank you' and 'please'
Helped anyone pay rent to the debtor?
So should you stop laughing because it doesn't help?
Should you never cry because it always hurts?
Should you never say polite phrases
Or wipe off your messes on your shirt?
No. They need to exist.
These rules and regulations.
For without these there'd be anarchy
For this and all the nations.
For in rules and all these regulations
We are all together for as long as they exist.
Anarchy may be hinted in some places.
But with anarchy, no one can persist.
Into the future, rules will be there
For so many years ahead
And who knows? They may increase with time
So many, they cannot be said.
So when asked to follow a rule
In laughter and in tears
Rules bring us together
And erase all of our fears.
