There is a story of a cat by the name of Leafpool.
She was a medicine cat in a clan from very long ago whose name has been forgotten.
Her skills were great. Her memory of herbs did not fail her. She was wise and kind to all of her clan.
However, she had disobeyed the warrior code. She had had kits with a tom from another clan. Two of the three of her kits were in a great prophecy of the time. One of them, Jayfeather, another medicine cat, made a desicion. He was angry at his mother for making such a great mistake and did not want it repeated. In order for all medicine cats to remember this story, the end of their name as a ful medicine cat must end in leaf. That way, they may remember Leafpool's great skills and grave mistake.
