OCC: Eve, I really like your style of writing. Most people just write to write. But those who are really passionate about writing derive their novels, posts, forums, etc from their feelings or something that inspires them. When I'm writing I always put a little bit of what's going on in my life (or what I need in my life) into my posts or novels. My life happenings always end up in my posts. When Rivershadow and Spottedwing had their "fight" Spottedwing said something about you'll never know what it's like to love someone and have them turn their heads from you at every second of the day. That's actually a part of me, personal, but not as much so that I can't vent into a post. I must seem like a lunatic. Maybe I am...
Water inspires me because it's strong, but gentle. It changes colors with either what's in it, or what's around it. It carves stone, can move buildings, but is gentle enough that we wash our children and ourselves with it.
Woods inspires me because of many reasons. 1) My grandma and grandpa live in Arkansas. I used to go there quite often before they passed away this summer. They used to live in the middle of the woods. It looked beautiful in fall, moist in the summer, and when the ice storms come...it's wonderful. The ice coats everything, turning it into a wonderland of sparkling ice.
2) The woods are my escape. I go there whether in my head or in real life (used to) just to think about things. Life, love, worries, sickness, the future...anything.
Love is also one of my inspirations. So many types, living in harmony with one another. Friendship love, boy/girlfriend love, marriage love...all coexisting. It's wonder-making.
You have to find an inspiration that you appreciate. The inspirations can be dark, light, loving, hated, coveted, all of these human emotions bonded into one. These inspirations will make you an even better writer. For good or for worse, you decide.
